Manifesto

Flavia Daniele is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Rome and now based in New York City.

With a photography background, she ventured into the fashion industry, exploring various roles that deepened her understanding of its creative and structural dynamics.

Beyond photography, Flavia works across multiple artistic disciplines, including pottery, lithography, monoprinting, wood engraving, linocut, cyanotype, video, and illustration. She often blends these mediums, creating unique intersections between techniques and perspectives.

Analog photography is central to her artistic practice. The absence of instant digital feedback allows her to fully immerse herself in the creative process, fostering a direct and intimate connection with her subjects. The physical nature of analog photography—its tangible outcome—aligns with her exploration of permanence in an increasingly ephemeral digital world.

In an era where images exist as fleeting data, buried in digital archives, Flavia’s work seeks to defy impermanence. By emphasizing materiality and sensory engagement, she strives to create lasting impressions—art that can be touched, held, and remembered. Through this pursuit, she explores the intersection between memory, physicality, and the human desire for immortality.
